Slovenia might be among the smaller countries in the world, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in its diversity. In fact, this green country (over 60% is forested) is the only European country where the Alps, the Mediterranean, the Karst and the Pannonian Plain meet.

A walk through the town itself, which is also considered the centre of the coast and Slovenia’s seaside window onto the world, reveals the architectural heritage, on which the Venetians left the greatest mark. You can also take a ride to Izola, the fishing centre of Slovenian Istria, which is just a few kilometres away, or experience romantic moments in captivating Piran.
