The story of Koper stretches back to the Middle Bronze Age, around 1500 BC. Once an island, it has evolved into Slovenia’s fifth-largest city. Known as Capris during the Roman Empire, Koper today reflects a rich tapestry of Byzantine, Venetian, and Austro-Hungarian influences, all of which lend the city its unique architectural and cultural soul.
Today, Koper enchants visitors with its vibrant pulse and picturesque Mediterranean surroundings. As the heart of Slovenian Istria—symbolized by the golden sun—it invites you to pair a world-class sporting experience with an exploration of its one-of-a-kind spirit.
